Margaret A. O'Brien of Woodbridge passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at home.  She was 84 years old.

Born, raised, and educated in Manhattan, Mrs. O'Brien was the child of Irish immigrants. After high school she worked as a secretary on Wall Street when she met her husband to be Jim O'Brien. After marriage, they moved to NJ where Margaret first focused on her family. Later in life she returned to work through a Temp agency, choosing jobs in the Central NJ area she found rewarding.

Margaret was a voracious reader. She also loved good food. She and her husband Jim loved trying different cuisines, especially on their travels. Margaret traveled extensively, from Switzerland, Italy, The Vatican, and Ireland to Hawaii, the Caribbean and all over the US and Canada.

Margaret was a Communicant of St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge.

She was predeceased by her husband Jim O'Brien who passed away in 2004; her parents Stephen and Mary Owens Moore; a sister Eileen Collins; a brother Stephen Moore.

Surviving are her sons James O'Brien and John O'Brien, a grandson Liam O'Brien.

Funeral will take place Wednesday, January 10, 2024 10:00 am from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home 44 Green Street, Woodbridge a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at St. James R.C. Church R.C. Church. Entombment will follow at St. James Chapel Mausoleum, Woodbridge Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial donations can be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital or the ASPCA.
