Marco T. Alberty passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 82 years old.

Born in San Jose, Costa Rica on November 12, 1940, he resided in New York before moving to the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township 50 years ago.

Mr. Alberty was employed for many years with Multi Chevrolet in Union for many years before retiring as Master Mechanic.

He was a communicant of Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Colonia; and served in the "Hell on Wheels" tanker division with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Alberty loved his grandchildren, fur babies, Gameshow Network and going out to eat.

He was predeceased by his mother, Maria Murillo Alberty.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 52 years, Joanne Lamparelli Alberty; children, Dawn Staklinski and her husband, Richard, of Englishtown and Mark Alberty and his wife, Laurie of Colonia; father, Angelo Alberty, of Florida; brothers, Angelo Alberty of Florida and Dasmid Alberty of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Jake, Brianna, Tyler, Nicole and Francesca; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, Colonia. Cremation will take place at Rosehill Crematory, Linden. Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Heart Association (heart.org) or the American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org) in Mr. Alberty's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
