Obituary

Madeline Scarano, 72, devoted wife, mother, sister, auntie, nanny, and friend of Woodbridge went home to the Lord on August 29, 2014 with her loving friends and family surrounding her. Madeline was a homemaker who raised six children. She was a parishioner at St. Andrew's RC Church in Avenel, and an active member of the Altar Rosary Society. In 1997 she was awarded the Mayor's Volunteer Appreciation Award for the numerous volunteer activities she participated in. Two main areas of focus were the Religious Education program at the Woodbridge Developmental Center alongside her best friends Patricia and Henry Chomicki, for which she also received a Mayoral Proclamation in 1999, and she was the main cook for the soup kitchen at the Trinity Church. She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Stephanie Martin and her brother Andrew, and grandson Mathew She is survived by the love of her life for 51 years, Joseph. In addition to her husband she is survived by a large loving family that includes her sister Doris McGlynn and her husband Bob of Bridgewater and Sister-in-Law Dolores Smith of Toms River; her sons Thomas and Betty of Hazlet, Chris and Anne of Quincy, IL, Martin and Jody of Allentown and Lee and Kelly of Woodbridge; daughters Lisa with Lisa Ann of Newark, DE and Kathy of Woodbridge; nephews Robert and Carla McGlynn; grandchildren Kaitie, Joseph, Austin, Alec, Justin, Stephanie, McKenzie, Mason and Griffin; great-nieces Allyson and Sara. Funeral will take place Wednesday, September 3, 2014 8:45 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (www.Costello-Greiner.com) 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. Andrew's RC Church, Avenel. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday September 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
