Lucy A. Perez was born on November 11, 1950, in Cali, Colombia to the late Leonor and Juan Charria.

Lucy spent her life in New Jersey raising her daughters Lilian and Jennifer and enjoying life with her family and friends. She was employed in quality control with Microstamping Co. in Somerville prior to her retirement.

Lucy had an infectious spirit and was a blessing to anyone who met her. Lucy and her husband Mario shared a love of traveling, entertaining, and spending time with their loving family, and lifelong friends. She was also communicant of Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Colonia.

Lucy was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Mario Perez; sister, Gloria Guarnizo; and brothers, Hermes Charria, Napoleon Charria and Marino Charria.

She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at her home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township. She was 74 years old.

Her legacy lives on through her children, Lillian McLoughlin (John) of Avenel; Jennifer Rodriguez (Donald) of Avenel; Lorena Campos (Humberto) of Tewksbury, Daniel Perez (Elizabeth) of Alexandria Township; sisters, Esperanza De Heredia and Liliana Charria; brothers, Juan Charria, Jorge Charria and Jesus Charria; grandchildren, Ariana, Krista, Valentin, Daniel, Alexander, Isabella, Isabel, Sophia, Liam and Desmond; and great grandchildren, Andres, Penelope and Atlas.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A memorial service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers can be sent to the funeral home and if you prefer, contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Mrs. Perez's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
