Lucille Marchetti passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at her home in Carteret. She was 92 years old.

Born in Jersey City on February 16, 1929 to the late Anna and Leonard Mecca, she has resided in Carteret for 53 years.

A graduate of Dickinson High School in Jersey City, Mrs. Marchetti was employed as a teaching assistant at the Gateway School in Carteret for many years before her retirement in 2011; and was a communicant of Holy Family Catholic Church at Divine Mercy Parish in Carteret.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John W. Marchetti, in 2012; sister, Betty Mecca; and brother, Jerry Mecca.

Surviving are her loving children, Ann Marie Marchetti of Carteret, John L. Marchetti of Carteret and Leonard Marchetti of Colonia; beloved grandchildren, Justin, Shaina, Marina, Robert John, Leo and Amanda Nichole Marchetti; and cherished great grandchildren, Anthony, Regina and Luciano.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 8:45 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church at Divine Mercy Parish, Carteret. Entombment will be in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday evening from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
