Louis E. Nelson, Jr. passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023. He was 73 years old.

Born in Jersey City to the late Grace and Louis E. Nelson, Sr., he has resided in Perth Amboy for 45 years.

He retired from Pathmark of Garwood after 40 years as a store associate; and was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Nelson was predeceased by his wife, Ann Marie Pona Nelson, in 2012; and five siblings.

Surviving are his daughters, Kimberly Diaz and her husband, David, of Perth Amboy and Lisa Nascimento and her husband, Kevin, of Perth Amboy; grandchildren, Christopher, Ariana, Kevin, Dominique, Ava and Sofia; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
