Lillian J. Roudi Kovacs passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 90 years old.

Born in Keasbey on March 19, 1932 to the late John and Mary Flissar Roudi, she has resided in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township since 1968.

Mrs. Kovacs graduated from Wagner College in 1954. She was hired by the Metuchen School Superintendent in 1954 and retired as an elementary teacher at Campbell School in 1994.

In 1992 Lillian received the Governor's Teacher Recognition award. Since 1986 the program has honored outstanding public school teachers across the state.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her husband, James Kovacs, in 2015; sisters, Irene Hango and Mary Kopasz; and brothers, Joseph and William Roudi.

Surviving are her nieces, Nancy Rathjen and her husband, Carl, and Lisa Padron and her husband, Hector; nephews, David Hango, William Roudi and his wife, Julia, and Joseph Roudi and his wife, Marilyn; and many loving great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 664 Amboy Avenue, Perth Amboy. Interment will follow at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
