Obituary

Lillian Kopervas passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Haven Hospice at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison. Born in 1930 in Perth Amboy, Lillian spent most of her life as a Woodbridge resident where she made many wonderful friends and memories. She was a member of Saint James Church in Woodbridge and worked for The New Jersey Highway Authority for over 30 years until her retirement. Mrs. Kopervas is predeceased by her husband, Frank P. Kopervas in 2007; a sister, Margaret Ferraro, in 1969; and a brother, Robert Fedor in 2003. Surviving are daughter, Cynthia and son, Gary. Also surviving are brother, John J. Fedor of Perth Amboy, daughter-in-law, Joan, two loving grandsons, Kyle and Kevin, Bruce Novak, partner to Cynthia, and Mark Ferraro, son to Margaret. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and relatives all of whom she treasured dearly. Lillian loved being with family, laughing, sharing stories and spending summers at the Jersey Shore, the Gettysburg Apple Festival and traveling on vacation with life-long friends. She was a master at calligraphy. Her personal expressions were works of art. She also loved cooking for friends and family, often serving her world-famous stuffed peppers and double-chocolate brownies. Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 9:15am from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge, followed at 10:00am with a Mass of Resurrection at Saint James Church, Woodbridge. Following mass, entombment will be in Saint James Chapel Mausoleum, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Friday, September 27 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and 7:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint James Food Pantry, 174 Grove Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
