Les "Nearly Normal" Kracsun passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township. He was 71 years old.

Born in Budapest, Hungary on March 10, 1952, he came to the United States as a child where was raised by his parents, Martha and John Keller, and  resided in Old Bridge before moving to Avenel in 2014.

Mr. Kracsun was employed as a truck driver with Corbett Trucking for Shamrock Materials in Staten Island, NY for 20 years before retiring in 2020.

He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel; a United States Army veteran; member of BPOE Elks Lodge #2298, Plainfield; and was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast.

Surviving are his longtime companion and loving wife of 5 years, Rose Walsh Kracsun; children, Kurt Kracsun of South River, Daniel Kracsun of Aberdeen, Nicholas Kracsun of Parlin, Kelly Kracsun of Toms River, Shannon O'Brien of Endicott, NY and Robert O'Brien of Avenel; sisters, Dawn Barbosa of Boynton Beach, FL and Shirley Edwards of Jupiter, FL; brother, John Keller, of Glen Rock; and loving grandchildren, T.J. Kracsun of South River, Sophia Mundy of Matawan and Aria Kracsun of Parlin.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel.  Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
