Lee Vetland passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was 71 years old.

He was born in Rahway and resided in Avenel and Colonia his entire life.

Mr. Vetland owned and operated Lee's Auto Body and Pine Top Service in Avenel for over 50 years, was a proud member and co-owner of the Colonia Country Club and was one of the founders and a board member of Auto Body Distributing.

He was an avid golfer and always up for a good game of cards. He enjoyed trips to Florida, watching NASCAR and tailgating at Giant's football games.

He was predeceased by his parents, Art and Ginny Vetland.

Surviving are his daughter and best friend, Katie Vetland, her husband Alejandro Picado, and her mom, Maria Harriette Vetland; sister Joann Vetland, her wife, Carol DiStefano, devoted partner, Linda Scapicchio and many wonderful friends, who he thought of as family.

A service in Lee's memory will take place on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Entombment will follow at Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lee Vetland Memorial Fund, 1100 Saint Georges Avenue, Avenel, NJ. Thus fund is going to be established to continue Lee's legacy of generosity by offering support to the less fortunate through scholarships and other acts of kindness.
