Kimberley Kindler passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 55 years old.

Born on August 2, 1969 in Rahway, she was a lifelong resident of the Sewaren section of Woodbridge Township. She was a congregant of St Joseph's Church in Carteret. People often comment that Kim was blessed to have so many in her life that loved her, but we were truly the blessed ones!

Kimberley is survived by her parents Michael and Jean (nee Esposito) Kindler of Sewaren; her brothers Michael Kindler of Metuchen (and his partner Karen), Eric Kindler and his wife Erika of North Brunswick; and her sister Deanna Kindler of Fords. She was a proud aunt of her nephews Mike, Dan, (and their mom, Dawn), nephew Ryan, and niece Megan. She adored her many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Kimmy was  known as the family's historian and keeper of all family photos. If you needed to know someone's birthday, age, anniversary, Kim was your go-to girl.

Kimberley was a member of the Woodbridge High School Class of 1990. After graduating, she worked at Easter Seals Raritan Valley Workshop, often employee of the month. Later she attended day programs at The Children's Center of Monmouth County and NJID in Port Reading. Wherever Kimmy went, she made friends and brought joy to all. She had a tee shirt that read: Born To Hug. She loved to snuggle. She was a lot of fun, was intuitive, had a great sense of humor, and was freakishly tough and strong.

Kimmy was a competitive swimmer, horseback rider, bowler (many 200 games and a lot of turkeys), softball, and a proud Special Olympian. She was competitive and excelled at everything she did.

Kimmy was proud to tell you that she was Down Syndrome. She enjoyed many programs including Hand-in-Hand, Buddie nights, Pacers Bowling, and the Carteret Specials. Every summer Kim would spend two weeks at camp, often being a helper aide to other young campers with special needs.

Kimberley had many interests and hobbies. She loved reading books on nutrition and health and loved writing in her many journals. Kim was also a proud honorary member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority of Monmouth University and was pretty damn good at American Sign Language. She collected assorted magazines and would lead you to an article as needed. She loved coloring, doing crafts, dancing, and playing games (shout out to Boggle!). Kimmy was an avid All My Children fan, a diehard Yankee fan and an encyclopedia of the 1970's - 80's NY Yankees. She loved going out to eat, trying new foods, and vacationing. If you asked her her favorite food, she would tell you peanut butter, and strawberry shortcake. She enjoyed shopping for herself and others. She was tech savvy and often had to help her parents with electronics. Kimmy was a huge collector of clothes, books, movies, music and family albums. She loved organizing them all within her own system.

If you knew Kim, you knew she was an honorary Pink Lady (and had the jacket to prove it). She was a huge movie fan, especially Grease, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, Annie, Sister Act, The Outsiders (Stay Gold, Kimmy), Breakfast Club, Revenge of the Nerds, anything Disney, etc., and all things horror (Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St, The Exorcist) People would laugh when hearing  she would watch these horror movies  in the morning before school.

Kimmy loved entertainment. She was a huge concert-goer; a few favorites were The Who and Bon Jovi. (Kim also attended several Golden Oldies shows with her parents.) She also enjoyed going to Broadway shows. Kimmy was always the first one on the dance floor. This girl had moves!

The family would like to extend deep appreciation and gratitude to all of their extended family and friends who have prayed for Kim throughout these past few years of illness.

Please join us as we celebrate our sweet, loveable, beloved girl on her celestial dance into heaven.  Pop in for a quick visit or stay the whole time.
