Kevin M. "Kev-O" Pelech passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his home in Carteret. He was 28 years old. Born in Rahway, he resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for most of his life before moving to Carteret 1 ½ years ago. A 2002 graduate of Colonia High School, Kevin was employed as a teller with TD Bank in Woodbridge and as a front end manager with Garden State Liquors in Perth Amboy. He was an avid football fan, especially of the New York Giants. Kevin had a larger than life personality and was a lifelong friend to everyone, even people he had just met. He is survived by his parents, Mary and John "Ronnie" Pelech, of Avenel; his sister, Rhonda Miles, of Woodbridge; his brother, Scott Pelech, of Neptune; his grandmother, Mary Mariani, of Avenel; his longtime girlfriend and love, Samantha "Sammy Jo" Ciandella; his brother in law and best friend, Bobby Miles; two nephews, Bradley "Bug" Miles and John Ross Miles; four uncles, Wayne "T" Mariani, Dennis Thomas, Dennis Pelech and David Mariani; his aunt, Debra Pelech; and countless lifelong friends. A Funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Interment will follow in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
