Kenneth J. Grenda passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 at his home in Woodbridge. He was 74 years old.
Born in Elizabeth on April 22, 1951 to the late Elizabeth and John Grenda, he was a lifelong resident of Woodbridge.
Mr. Grenda was employed as a meter reader with Middlesex Water Company in Iselin for 42 years before his retirement in 2013; and had served with the National Guard.
He was an avid horseracing enthusiast at both Freehold Raceway and the Meadowlands; and had owned several racehorses along with his father over the years. Additionally, he was a diehard Rutgers University Football fan and season ticket holder.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Vincent J. Grenda, in 2008.
Surviving are his sisters, Christine McIntyre and her husband, Paul, of Pittsburgh, PA and Ann Walters and her husband, Michael, of Fords; brother, Thomas Grenda, of Edison; nieces; nephews; great nieces; and great nephews.
Kenneth was laid to rest at Saint Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia with his brother, Vincent, with a private service attended by his family.
In lieu of flowers contributions to the Standardbred Retirement Foundation (adoptahorse.org) in Mr. Grenda's memory would be greatly appreciated by his loved ones.
