Kathleen Ann Jackson age 74 of Murrells Inlet, SC, formerly of Colonia, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

Born in New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Charlene Rust.

Kathleen met her husband Francis at the age of 16 while working at the Woolworth's Department Store in Menlo Park. She retired from Woodbridge Developmental Center in Avenel, NJ where she dedicated 25 years of her life to helping people with special needs.

Kathleen was a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church in Murrells Inlet, SC and a former member of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel.

She enjoyed needlework, knitting, and crafting and enjoyed being surrounded by her nieces, nephews and her dogs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Theresa O'Connell, of Avenel.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Francis Jackson of Murrells Inlet, SC; sister, Marian Walsh, of South Amboy; brother, Donald Rust, of Glen Gardner; sister-in-law, Ellen Thomsen, of Flemington; brother-in-law, Joseph Jackson, of Murrells Inlet, SC; sister-in-law, Patricia Jackson, of Iselin; sister-in-law, Bernadette Desch, of Iselin; brother-in-law, James Jackson, of Barnegat; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Memorial Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
