Kathleen Corcoran Hughes of the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at home.  She was 94 years old.

Born in New York City, she resided in Jersey City before moving to the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township 53 years ago.

Mrs. Hughes was employed in Sales at Stern's and Macy's Department stores at Woodbridge Center for many years.

She was a communicant of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Carteret where she was active with the Saint Vincent DePaul Society and volunteered at Gift Store at the church.

Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Michael Patrick Hughes who passed away in 2012; her sisters Eileen Hennessy, Nora Clancy, and Jacqueline Gill; and her brother Patrick Corcoran.

Surviving are her four daughters, Ellen Hughes, of Port Reading, Kathleen Durek and her husband James, of Colonia, Michelle Osborne and her husband James, of Flemington and Nora Melone and her husband John of Freehold; two sons, Lawrence Hughes and his wife Pricilla of Seattle, Washington, and Michael P. Hughes, Jr. and his wife Meghan, of Port Reading; nine grandchildren Neil Hughes, Katelan Hughes, Jack Hall, Jacqueline Osborne, John Osborne, Meghan Damico, Matthew Melone, Kyle Melone and Brendan Hughes; and one great-grandchild Deaglan Hall.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 4, 2023 9:00 - 10:00 am with a prayer starting at 10:00 am, from the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (www.costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy will follow at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, Carteret. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
