Katherine Matyi passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Kindred Hospital of New Jersey in Rahway. She was 60 years old.

Born in Staten Island, NY, she resided in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township for the past 20 years.

Mrs. Matyi worked for many years with Pathmark Corporation in Avenel; and was most recently employed by the Woodbridge Township Board of Education as a paraprofessional and custodian.

She was an avid supporter of The Seeing Eye and helped in raising seven pups for them. Katherine also cherished spending time with her grandchildren, family gatherings, cooking and sharing recipes and going to yard and estate sales.

Mrs. Matyi was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Stephen Rebracca.

Surviving are her sons, Michael of Bushkill, PA, Alex of Port Reading and David of Port Reading; daughter in law, Anna Matyi; sisters, Linda Rebracca of Avenel and Deborah Maull of Bridgewater; brother, Stephen Rebracca, of Lehigh, PA; sister in law, MaryAnn Rebracca; brother in law, Whitney Maull, Sr.; nieces, Erica Rebracca, Elizabeth Matyi and Michelle Matyi; nephews, Whitney Maull, Stephen Rebracca and Charles Matyi; and beloved grandchildren, Carina Kulbis, Mason Matyi, Eva Matyi and Emma Matyi.

Katherine also enjoyed the companionship of her canine friends, Demon, Shyanne, Shaka, Kaya, Dozer, Stripe, Gizmo and Shiya.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 1:30 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (www.costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge.
