Obituary

Julia Stankowitz of Hopelawn passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 93 years old. Born in Hightstown, she resided in Hopelawn most of her life. Mrs. Stankowitz was employed as a Computer Technician with Indiana General in Keasbey for 13 years, retiring in 1975. She was a former communicant of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church; and a member of The Hopelawn Senior Citizens Club. She was predeceased by her husbands, Edward Kowalski, in 1971, and Charles Stankowitz in 1978; her parents John and Anna Slinsky; and 4 sisters, Mary Eggert, Anna Thompson, Helen Yaremko, andDorothy Wojtkowski. She is survived by her sister, Agnes Dubay, of Colonia; two nieces Janet Banko and Barbara Turcotte; two nephews John Dubay and Steven Yaremko; 9 great-nieces and great nephews as well as3 great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew's Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society 2600 Route #1, North Brunswick, NJ 08892.
