Judith Petz Uveges passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025. She was 82 years old.

Born in Rahway to the late Thomas and Lillian Bundt Petz, she had resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township since 1975.

Mrs. Uveges graduated from Woodbridge High School with the Class of 1962. She worked for RCA from 1963 to 1969 before devoting the next two decades to raising her family of three children. She later found great fulfillment working as a paraprofessional with the Woodbridge Township Board of Education at Avenel Middle School, where she proudly served for over 30 years. She was a three-time recipient of the Mayor's Citation for Excellence in Education for a Support Staff Member and took great pride in her work.

She married the love of her life, Frank Uveges, on April 25, 1964, at Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel, and the two were inseparable for over half a century.

She was a loving and proud wife, mother, and grandmother. Her favorite times were spent with her family, and she especially loved being surrounded by her six grandchildren. Judith had a creative spirit and took great pleasure in arts and crafts. She also found joy in cooking and baking, which brought happiness to her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Uveges, in 2020; her sister, Carol Bobenchik; and her brother, George Smith.

Surviving are her children: Frank Uveges and his wife, Janna, of Bay Head; Jeffrey Uveges and his wife, Kevlyn, of Sayreville; and Jillian Buhowski and her husband, Richard, of Toms River. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Charlotte, Emily, Franklin, Jeffrey Jr., Luke, and Eden.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ 07001. Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Cloverleaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Rutgers Gardens in Judith's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
