Josephine T. Yelencsics of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Hartwyck at Edison Estates in Edison. She was 89 years old. Josie was born in Perth Amboy, married Joseph, and settled in Avenel where they opened their business, Sentry TV. After 40 years of business they retired to enjoy their passion for gardening and volunteer service. Josephine was a communicant of St. Andrew's R.C. Church in Avenel where she belonged to the Altar-Rosary Society, was a member of the Avenel Golden Circle of Senior Citizens, and a longtime volunteer at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Yelencsics who passed away in 2005. Josie is survived by her sister in law Ann Lebeda, a niece Lynn Churchwell, a nephew Gary Lebeda, two great-nieces Sydney Churchwell-Lively, and Victoria Churchwell, a great-nephew Albert Lebeda, and a great great nephew Wyatt Lively. A funeral liturgy will take place on Friday, July 25, 2014, 10:30a.m. at St. Andrew's R.C. Church, North Madison Avenue, Avenel. Interment will be in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, Avenel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your favorite charity.
