Josephine Kovach passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison. She was 95 years old.

Born in Port Reading, she resided in Woodbridge for 60 years before moving to Edison 4½ years ago.

Josephine was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge; and an avid Atlantic City slot machine player. She enjoyed feeding her family, friends, and neighbors and always welcomed more to the table. Josephine also dedicated her time to volunteering for the elderly in her neighborhood. She helped with errands, bookkeeping, and provided companionship.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Kovach, in 1994.

Surviving are her children, Jean Webber of Sewaren, Dolores Warner of Baltimore, MD, Bill Kovach of Newtown, PA and Marie Frankel of Pasadena, MD; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. from the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home , 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Saint James Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
