Joseph G. Subyak, Jr. of Manahawkin passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022 at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Stafford Township with his wife by his side. He was 81 years old.

Born in Perth Amboy; He resided in Woodbridge most of his life before moving to Manahawkin 25 years ago.

Mr. Subyak was a United States Navy Veteran

He was employed as a Computer Programmer with Lucent Technologies in Newark for 35 years retiring 21 years ago.

He was a Communicant of St. Mary of the Pines R.C. Church in Manahawkin; a 3 ^rd degree member of The Woodbridge Knights of Columbus Council #857, a member of The Harbor Village Fishing Club, and The Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1575 in Manahawkin. He was also an avid bowler and belonged to three bowling leagues. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph G. Subyak, Sr. and Anna Wanot Subyak; a son Angelo Guarrera; and a sister Joyce Cherepanya.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years Charlene Kalasin Subyak; a son Richard Guarrera of Westville, NJ; his grandchildren Helina, Anthony, Chelsea, and Jacob; his great-grandchildren Jose and Daniel.

Funeral services will take place Friday, December 30, 2022 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge.  a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will follow at St. James R.C. Church, Woodbridge.  Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.  Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
