Joseph W. Romash passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Edison. He was 83 years old.

Born in Newark on October 30, 1942 to the late Veronica (Sidorek) and Joseph Romash, he resided there and in Avenel before moving to Iselin many years ago.

Mr. Romash was employed as a civil engineer with Kupper & Associates in Piscataway for many years prior to his retirement.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Grace “Peggy” Romash, in 2008; sister, Margaret Romash; and brothers, Charles and Robert Romash.

Surviving are his brother, James Romash and his wife, Paula, of High Bridge; sister, Mary Romash, of Hillsborough; sisters in law, Judith Romash and Dagmar Romash; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ 07001.

In lieu of flowers a contribution to the charity of your choice in Mr. Romash’s memory would be greatly appreciated by his loved ones.
