Joseph Molnar of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away surrounded by his loving wife and daughters on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Roosevelt Care Center in Edison. He was 85 years old.

Born in Carteret, NJ; He resided in Avenel for the past 51 years.

Mr. Molnar was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War earning the National Defense Service medal and the Occupation of Germany Medal.

He was employed with The Rheem Corporation in Linden for 25 years and with The Middlesex County Parks Department at Medwick and Roosevelt Parks for 25 years retiring in 2008.

He was a longtime Communicant of St. Andrews R.C. Church in Avenel, and was a charter member and the oldest living member of The St. Andrew's Knights of Columbus Council #5088.

He loved his Hungarian culture often listening to the music and maybe sometimes he would do a little Csardas.

He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Elizabeth Kajla Molnar; three sisters Bette Dumont, Anna O'Burski, and his twin sister Jolan Molnar; two brothers Frank Molnar, and John Molnar.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Dorothy Kish Molnar; three daughters Susan Cifrodelli and her husband Lawrence of Edison, Cynthia Taffet and her husband Gary of East Brunswick, and Donna Pastena and her husband Christopher, Sr. of Florham Park, NJ; a sister Margaret Ferrante of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; seven grandchildren who he adored Michael, Liane, Matthew, Sarah, Christopher Jr., Austin, and Vienna.

The Funeral will take place Monday, December 5, 2016 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home ( www.Costello-koyen.com ) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A 10:00 a.m. funeral liturgy will take place at St. Andrew's R.C. Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.

Visiting hour will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
