Joseph T. Jasper passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 86 years old.
Born in South Amboy, he resided in Woodbridge for most of his life.
Mr. Jasper owned and operated Liquorette Liquor Store in Woodbridge for many years before his retirement and had previously owned and operated Fords Liquor Store.
He was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge; had served in the National Guard; and was a former member of Woodbridge Lions Club and Middlesex Council 857, Knights of Columbus, Woodbridge.
Mr. Jasper was predeceased his parents, James and Henrichetta Jasper; sisters, Theresa Jasper Merrone and Mary Grace Jasper Grant; and a grandson, Anthony David Molis.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Marianne Rizzo Jasper; a daughter, Lisa Jasper Molis, her husband, Sigmund Molis, Jr., of Woodbridge; a son, James Jasper and his wife, Lynne, of Fords; grandsons, Christopher Molis and his wife, Christy, Kevin Jasper and his wife, Maureen, and Joseph Jasper II; and a great granddaughter, Cali Sophia Molis.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Chapel Mausoleum, One Ida Way, Hopelawn. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street (at Barron Avenue), Woodbridge.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Saint James Food Pantry, 148 Grenville Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095
in Joseph's memory will be greatly appreciated by the family.
