Joseph E. Frederick passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 85 years old. Born in Paterson, he resided in Linden for many years before moving to Woodbridge 15 years ago. Mr. Frederick was awarded his Bachelor's degree from Seton Hall University in West Orange and his Master's degree from Kean University in Union; and was employed as an elementary school teacher by the Linden Board of Education for many years. He belonged to B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #324 in New Brunswick. Mr. Frederick was predeceased by a granddaughter, Katy, in 2009. Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Anna Roudenko Frederick; two daughters, Susan Frederick of Fort Myers, FL and Monica Frederick of Newport Beach, CA; a son, David Frederick, of Tuckerton; two brothers, Ronald Frederick of Hawthorne and Eugene Frederick of Baltimore, MD; and three grandchildren, Matthew, Laura and Karen. There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects to the Frederick family prior to the service beginning at 6:00 p.m. The family would appreciate contributions to Haven Hospice (havenhospicenj.org), 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08820 in lieu of flowers.
