Obituary

Joseph V. DiMarsico, Jr. passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 82 years old.

Born in New York City, he resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for most of his life prior to moving to Iselin 2 years ago .

Mr. DiMarsico attended Middlesex County College and was employed as a field inspector for Woodbridge Township for 15 years before his retirement in 2001.

A huge NY Yankee fan and avid outdoorsman, he was loved by everyone that met him. He belonged to Golden Circle, Avenel Seniors and Evergreen Seniors in Colonia and was a former member of the Woodbridge Lion's Club and Woodbridge Township Jaycees.

Mr. DiMarsico was predeceased by a daughter, Dina DiMarsico Gianakon, in 2008; and a sister, Annette Mildred LaPiana, in 2012.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Charlotte Kisieleski DiMarsico; children, Denise DiMarsico of Iselin and Vincent Joseph DiMarsico of San Diego, CA; 3 grandchildren, Matthew Strauss and his wife, Jenny, A.J. Chavez and Catalina Chavez; 2 great grandchildren, Christian and Dorian; 2 sisters in law and their husbands, Beverly and Gene Decker of North Carolina and Maryann and Chet Gorski of Wyoming; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ. Funeral services will be on Thursday morning at 9:15 from the funeral home with a Mass of Resurrection following at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Entombment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org), 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Joseph's memory.
