Joseph Francis Cronin passed away on Friday, August 30, 2019 at his home in Woodbridge. He was 71 years old.

Born in New York City on January 29, 1948 to the late David and Elizabeth Cronin, he has resided in Woodbridge for the past 19 years.

Mr. Cronin was employed as an air conditioning and heating maintenance supervisor with Garden State Cold Storage in Carteret for the past three years; and previously worked with White Rose Frozen Food, also in Carteret.

He was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters and seven brothers.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Loretta Theobald Cronin; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Muscle and her husband, Richard, of Woodbridge; and sons, Joseph F. Cronin, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of North Canton, Ohio and Brian Keith Cronin of Oak Ridge. Also surviving are his sister, Katherine Tiedeman, of Atlantic Highlands; brother, Ronald Cronin of California; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Port Reading. Entombment will be in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org) or Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) in Mr. Cronin's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
