Jose I. Roman passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.  He was 69 years old.

Born on July 11, 1954 to the late Leopoldo Roman Lisboa and Amelia Cardona Alizea in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, he resided in Woodbridge before moving to Farmingdale in September of 2022.

Mr. Roman owned and operated R M Auto Body in Perth Amboy for 45 years before retiring in 2003.

He loved to play Dominoes and spending time with family. He was happiest when all were gathered celebrating the holidays.

Surviving are his devoted wife of 30 years, Clara Roman; children, Jose Ismael Roman, Jr., Angel Roman, Nicholas Roman, Mary Fernandez and Louis Fernandez; grandchild, Yandel Fernandez; sisters, Miriam Roman and Nora Roman; brothers, Roberto Roman and Eperminio Roman; and nieces, Diandra Roman, Marta Roman, Chavely Roman, Yelixa Castellano, Angela Febres, and Andrea Febres.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 5:45 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, at Barron Avenue, in Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Committal service will take place at 12:00 p.m. at Saint Gertrude Mausoleum on Friday, September 1, 2023.
