Obituary

Jolan Margit Cselovszky passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at JFK Medical Center in Edison surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Jolan was born in Budapest, Hungary on February 3, 1932, to the late Jolan and Sandor Keki. Her husband, Frank Cselovszky, and her immigrated to the United States in December 1956 during the Hungarian revolution with their two sons, Frank Cselovszky, Jr. at the age of three and their youngest son Peter Cselovszky at the age of 18 months. Mrs. Cselovszky was a hairdresser and an office administrator in Hungary before coming to the United States. She was employed by Amerada Hess Corporation in Woodbridge where she worked for 25 years before retiring in 1991 to help take care of her grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Mrs. Cselovszky loved playing the piano and singing. She also enjoyed cooking and baking delicious Hungarian pastries and meals as well as spending summer vacations in the Outer Banks with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Frank Cselovszky, in 2010; and brothers, Laszlo and Sandor Keki.

Surviving are her sons Frank Cselovszky, Jr., and his wife Susan of Vermillion, SD, Peter Cselovszky and his wife Patricia of Clark, Laszlo Cselovszky and his wife Donna of Lebanon and her daughter Dianna "Panni" Durkin of Avenel as well as her grandchildren, Eric, Sarah, Adam, Michelle, Rachael, Luke, Paul and Rebecca and her great grandchildren, Madison, Tripp, Kinsley, Chloe, Jake, Cole, Brody and Sadie.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Dementia Society of America (dementiasociety.org) in Mrs. Cselovszky's memory would be greatly appreciated by her loved ones.
