John R. Zienkiewicz passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at his home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township. He was 89 years old.

Born in Bayonne on November 25, 1934 to the late Josephine and John Zienkiewicz, he has resided in Avenel since 1962.

John was a United States Air Force veteran; and employed as an aircraft instrument technician with Midway Aircraft Instrument Corporation in Little Ferry for 35 years before retiring in 1997.

He enjoyed tinkering with electronics and light woodworking.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Janet Albanese Zienkiewicz; daughters, Lynn Barat and her husband, Lance, of Clark and Bonnie Malone and her husband, Randy, of Somerset; son, John Zienkiewicz and his wife, Susan, of Bridgewater; brother, Robert Zienkiewciz, of Little Ferry; grandchildren, Brittney Sanzo, Devon Zienkiewicz and Nicholas Zienkiewicz; and great grandson, Jaxson.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions to The American Heart Association in Mr. Zienkiewicz's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
