John T. Varianka of Woodbridge passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.  He was 77 years old.

Mr. Varianka was born in Jersey City, NJ; He resided in Woodbridge for the past 48 years.

He was employed as a warehouseman with Rickel's Home Center in South Plainfield for 25 years retiring 30 years ago.

He was a United States Disabled Army Veteran serving in Vietnam in the 25 ^th Division, Company B, 4 ^th Battalion; He was a member of The Disabled American Veterans and The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans in Holmdel.

Mr. Varianka loved playing Checkers and Pool with his granddaughter Rebecca and would love to go to Atlantic City and gamble.

He was predeceased by his parents John and Ann inn Varianka; and a sister Patricia Meola .

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Frances McBride Varianka; a daughter Maryann Ricci and her husband Robert of Philipsburg, NJ; and his granddaughter Rebecca Ricci.

A prayer service followed by Military honors will take place Friday, April 8, 2022 5:30 pm at Costello-Greiner Funeral home 44 Green Street and Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private.

Visiting hours will be Friday 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm at the funeral home
