John T. Sidote passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy Division. He was 88 years old. Born in Perth Amboy, he was a lifelong resident of Woodbridge. Mr. Sidote was a composite artist with the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department for 28 years before his retirement in 1989. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, serving as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division where he participated in the invasion of Normandy. He was predeceased by his wife, Vilma Deak Sidote, in 2011. Surviving are many nieces and nephews, including Joseph Sidote of Woodbridge, William Sidote of Flemington and Michael Makuch of Port Reading; and many great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
