John A. Sheedy passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.  He was 63 years old.

Born in Newark, NJ on August 15, 1960 to the late Margaret and John Sheedy, he resided in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township for most of his life.

Mr. Sheedy was employed as a diesel mechanic with Woodbridge Township School District, Kimber Petroleum, and Dana Transportation.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by a sister, Ellen Bradley, and a step-father Joseph Rotili.

John enjoyed spending time with his dogs, fishing, and hunting.  He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races, attending Somerset Patriots games, and going to see local live bands.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Deborah Sheedy;  children, Jennifer Sheedy and husband Peter McKeon, Jaclyn Otero and husband, Miguel Otero, and three grandchildren, Juliana, Delilah and Ethan, sister Tracy DeNorio and husband Albert, brother-in-law Steven Bradley, niece Shannon Cox, and nephew Steven Bradley Jr.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.  A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, Colonia.  Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hopelawn.  Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Sheedy's name can be made to the Woodbridge Animal Shelter.
