John M Popowich of Woodbridge passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at home. He was 68 years old.

Born in Rahway, NJ; He was raised in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township and has resided in Woodbridge for the past 21 years.

Mr. Popowich attended Colonia High School, and was a Communicant of St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge.

He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in the Construction Battalion, or "Seabees", from 1976 until 1980 and was employed with Industrial Welding Supply in Sayreville for 37 years retiring in December of 2024.

He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Elsie Begany Popowich.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years Mildred Collins Popowich, a daughter Trina Hamas of California; his grandchildren Leialoha and Keoni, and 2 step-children Miles and Dylan Hunter of Woodbridge.

A 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025 at St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge. His burial will follow at St. Gertrudes Cemetery, Colonia.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
