John T. "Jack" Lyons, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Community Medical Center in Toms River surrounded by his loving family. He was 74 years old. Born in Elizabeth, he resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township before moving to Toms River 3 years ago. Mr. Lyons was employed as an auto body mechanic with Woodbridge Auto Body for many years until retiring in 1999. He was a member of Lafayette Lodge #27, Free and Accepted Masons, Rahway, where he was a Distinguished White Apron, B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #2116, Woodbridge and the Deutscher Club of Clark. Mr. Lyons was predeceased by his wife, Bonita Doll Lyons, in 2003. Surviving are two sisters, Margaret Holly of Toms River and Judy Bonicker of Toms River; and a brother, Robert Lyons, of Leyraysville, PA. A memorial visitation will take place on Sunday, October 26, 2014 beginning at 2:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.
