John M. Kaposztas passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. He was 92 years old.

Born in Perth Amboy, John was a longtime resident of Sewaren with "the love of his life", Bertha, his wife of 66 years who passed away on April 24th of this year.

He proudly served his country during WWII in Pearl Harbor in the 25th Special Naval Construction Battalion, Company "A" of the United States Navy.

Mr. Kaposztas was a Teamster member and drove a tractor-trailer for the dairy industry; and was a communicant of Saint John Paul II Parish, Saint Stephen's Catholic Church in Perth Amboy, where he served as an usher and was active with the seniors.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents and siblings.

Surviving are his devoted daughters, Geraldine Milano and her husband, Dennis, of Edison and Joyce Fenton and her husband, James, of Woodbridge; six grandchildren, David Milano and his wife, Jessica Dallas, Vincent Milano and his wife, Sylvia, Karen Milano, Jake Fenton, Beth Fenton and Emily Fenton; two great grandchildren, Vincent and Giulianna Milano; niece, Ilona Wuesthoff and her family; and many other nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint John Paul II Parish, Saint Stephen's Church, Perth Amboy. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street (at Barron Avenue), Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Center for Hope Hospice, 1900 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076 in John's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
