John G. Fischer passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at his home in Woodbridge. He was 62 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, he has resided in Woodbridge for the past 40 years.

John was employed as a shop steward and carpenter through United Brotherhood of Carpenter's Local 157 in New York City for 37 years before his retirement in 2015; and was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge

He was predeceased by his brother, Harold Fischer, in 2000.

Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Denise Lechner Fischer; son, Matthew J. Fischer; parents, Harold and Jean Fischer; brother, Daniel C. Fischer; sisters, Laureen Martinko, Jeanmarie McBride and Ann Powell; sister in law; brothers in law; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were private under the direction of Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org), 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Mr. Fischer's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
