John R. Dobos, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 81 years old.

Born in Woodbridge, he resided there before moving to Parlin 34 years ago.

Mr. Dobos was employed with the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier and driver at the Woodbridge Post Office for 34 years before his retirement.

He was a United States Army veteran and a huge sports fan. John had played minor league baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization in the 1950's.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Evelyn Sedor Dobos; his children, Elyse Hill of Lebanon and John Dobos of Somerset; granddaughters, Jessica and Julianna Hill; and great grandchildren, Jack and Alice.

A memorial service will take place on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will take place at the funeral home beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the charity of your choice in John 's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
