Obituary

John J. Clark passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at his home in Woodbridge. He was 91 years old. Born in Newark, he has resided in Woodbridge since 1973. Mr. Clark was employed as Director of Facilities for Jersey City State College for 25 years before retiring in 1988. He was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge; and a United States Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Mr. Clark was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Clark; and three brothers, Joseph, Jerome, and James Clark. Surviving are his wife, Lillian Demko Clark; two daughters, Karen Clark of Spring Lake Heights and Kathleen McCarthy of Warren; two sons, John Clark of Warren and Kevin Clark of Manasquan; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will begin on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. from the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, a Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Iselin. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family would greatly appreciate contributions in Mr. Clark's memory to the New Jersey State Library Talking Book and Braille Center at TBBC, Attn: Development Department, 2300 Stuyvesant Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08618.
