January 4, 1924 — November 14, 2017
John A. Capicotto passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 93 years old.
He was born in Queens, NY and resided there before moving to Edison in 1998.
Mr. Capicotto was a United States Army veteran of World War II and worked for the Long Island Railroad for 35 years before retiring in 1977.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Maria Capicotto; and five brothers and sisters, Frances Reyer, Anthony Capicotto, Angelina Capicotto, Rose Biagini and Louis Capicotto.
Surviving are a niece, Virginia Gordon; and great nephews, Brian and Adam Gordon.
Funeral services will be on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home , 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Flushing, NY. Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org), P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517 in Mr. Capicotto's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
