Joanne C. Smith passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Seasons Hospice at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. She was 65 years old.

Born in Elizabeth, she resided in the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township and in Old Bridge before moving to Smyrna, DE five years ago.

Mrs. Smith was employed by Lucent Technologies for 37 years before retiring as an Event Coordinator in there National Division.

She was a former communicant of Saint Cecelia's Catholic Church in Iselin.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Filomena LaFaso D'Ippolito.

Surving are her loving husband of 31 years, Kevin Smith; brother, Vincent A. D'Ippolito, of Delaware; sisters, Marie Elena Prada of Iselin and Paulette Giroux of Metuchen; she is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Cecelia's Catholic Church, Iselin. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
