Joanne M. Buczynski Bettinger passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 from Covid-19 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 67 years old.

Born in Rahway, she grew up in Carteret and moved to the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township in 1979.

Mrs. Bettinger graduated from Kean University with a bachelor's degree and received her master's degree in Speech Therapy from Rutgers University. She was employed as a speech pathologist before raising her children.

She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel; and a member of the Sycamore Senior Center. She loved to knit and crochet and belonged to the Edison Knitting Club; was an avid reader; and loved the cats she had throughout the years.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Christine H. Bettinger, in 2011; and her parents, Frank and Josephine Senk Buczynski. Her husband, James M. Bettinger, passed away on April 9, 2020.

She is survived by her son, David Bettinger, of Iselin; brother, Frank Buczynski and wife Daria of Avenel; and many nieces and nephews.
