Joan Wright passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Center for Hope Hospice in Elizabeth. She was 81 years old.

Born in Perth Amboy, she resided in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township for 19 years.

Mrs. Wright was employed in the loan service department of Margaretten and Company in Perth Amboy; and was a communicant of Pope John Paul II Parish, Saint Stephen's Catholic Church in Perth Amboy.

She was a gifted painter and loved animals.

Mrs. Wright was predeceased by her husband, Fred T. Wright, in 2018; parents, Caroline S. and Joseph Pomykala; and sister Caroline E. Pomykala.

Surviving are her daughters, Theresa Soden of South Plainfield, Sandra Kieras of Carteret and Roxanne Beebe of Pittsburgh, PA; sons in law; and grandchildren, Amanda and Emily Soden, Lara and Evan Kieras and Ryan, Olivia, Aidan and Isabella Beebe.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, followed by a funeral liturgy at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Entombment will follow in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions toward alzheimers disease research in Mrs. Wright's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
