Joan M. Partyka passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack. She was 77 years old.

Born in Jessup, PA, she was a lifelong resident of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township.

Miss Partyka was employed as a Systems Analyst in the IT Department at Prudential Life Insurance Company in Newark for 36 years before retiring in 1994, and after retirement worked part time with The Obstetrical and Gynecological Group of Metuchen.

She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel, member of the AARP and past president of Golden Circle, Avenel Seniors. She was also a member of the Woodbridge Township Domestic Violence Response Team.

She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Mary Kilvitis Partyka; and brothers, Frank, Thomas and Peter Partyka.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families, Cheryl Dean, Karen Thomas, Denna Weston, Thomas Partyka and Gary Partyka.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home with a funeral liturgy following at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
