Joan French passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 87 years old.

Born in Newark on December 27, 1935 to the late Pearl and John Feltwater, she resided in Woodbridge for many years before moving to Port Reading three years ago.

She was employed as a meat wrapper with Shop-Rite of South Orange prior to her retirement.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. French was predeceased by her sister, Lillian Pallen.

Surviving are her loving children, Kim Bittencourt of Trucksville, PA, Richard French of Woodbridge and Traci Krauss of Barto, PA; grandchildren, Jesse L. Bittencourt, Rick French and Hunter Krauss; and great grandson, Jesse A. Bittencourt.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. Entombment will follow at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Woodbridge Animal Group (woodbridgeanimalgroup.com) or the American Heart Association (heart.org) in Mrs. French's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
