Jeffrey Zglobicki of Avenel, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 23.  He was 61 years old.  Born in Elizabeth, he was a lifelong resident of Avenel, having graduated from Colonia High School in 1979.  He was employed for over 40 years in the Produce Department of Pathmark, Stop & Shop, and Shop-Rite Supermarkets.

Jeffrey, or "Z-Man" as he was known by many, was a lifelong golfer.  He was a 3-year varsity member of the Colonia High School golf team where he was awarded Most Valuable Player his senior year, and a team player that won the Middlesex County Championship.  He also belonged to the Tamarack Golf Association where he enjoyed golfing with friends and family.  One of his proudest accomplishments was coaching the Hopelawn Little League, where he brought an underdog team to three consecutive championships.  In his spare time, Jeffrey was a die-hard football and baseball fan; he especially loved the Chicago Bears ('Da Bears' as he would always say on game day) and the San Francisco Giants.

Jeffrey was predeceased by his father, Stanley, his grandmother, Gilda Drost, and aunt, Sophie Wnek.  He is survived by his mother, Jean Zglobicki, of Avenel; sister Kim Early and her husband, Bill, of Shark River Hills; sister Karen Zglobicki of Avenel; niece Erin Royston and her husband, Steve, of Shark River Hills; nephew Connor Early and his wife, Sarah, of Shrewsbury; grandniece Maeve Early; and cousin Diane Bodzioch of Colonia, as well as many other beloved cousins and extended family.
