Jeffrey A. Nelson passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 peacefully at home. He was 61 years old. Born in Brooklyn, Jeff moved to Staten Island in 1961, and resided there before moving to Woodbridge in 1984. Jeff was a skilled carpenter who owned and operated businesses on Staten Island, including a partnership in Trades Construction Services Corporation. Outside of work, Jeff was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, backpacking, and hunting, as well as fishing aboard his beloved boat "Mayhem." He was a proud Eagle Scout and former Assistant Scoutmaster of his sons' Boy Scout Troop 143 in Woodbridge. Jeff is predeceased by his parents Eric and Ruth Nelson; sister Lyn DePatie; and brother Kenny Nelson. Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Debra (Fessler) Nelson; son Eric and his wife Courtney of Fairless Hills, PA; son Keith and his wife Nicole of Freehold, NJ; daughter Kaylie of Jersey City, NJ; and two grandchildren, Samuel and Rosie Nelson. He is also survived by his sisters Kathy Cavagnaro of Staten Island, NY; Judy Cerrone and her husband Michael of Colonia, NJ; Laura Etheridge of Columbia, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 10 AM at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (www.costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street, at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge.
