Jeanette C. Muir passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Mattison Crossing at Manalapan Avenue in Freehold. She was 90 years old.

Born in Newark on April 1, 1933, to the late Ora and Charles Moran, she resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for over 60 years before moving to Freehold 2½ years ago.

Mrs. Muir was employed as a secretary with General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division in Avenel for 30 years before retiring in 1996; and belonged to Trinity Episcopal Church in Woodbridge.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Kirkwood Muir, Sr., in 1998; sister, Cora Buhl; and brothers, James Moran and John Moran.

Surviving are her son, James K. Muir, Jr., of Howell; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 9:45 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Trinity Church Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
