Jean Banz passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 58 years old.
Born in Rahway on November 22, 1960 to the late Charles and Katherine Van Blarcum Dittemer, she was a lifelong resident of the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township.
Mrs. Banz was employed as an administrative assistant with Linden Warehouse and Distribution for many years.
She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Iselin, where she was active in the Prayer Shawl Ministry; and was an avid bingo player and crocheter.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son in law, Chris Byczkiewicz.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, William Banz; daughter, Jennifer Byczkiewicz; sisters, Ellen Dittemer and Karen Gross, both of Inverness, FL; brother, Charles "Chip" Dittemer of Inverness, FL; grandchildren, Charlotte and Christopher Byczkiewicz; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Iselin, 1295 Oak Tree Road, Iselin. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Haven Hospice, 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08818 in Jean's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
