Jayne A. Pierce passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at her home in Woodbridge. She was 56 old.
Born in Bronxville, NY, Jayne moved to her beloved Manhattan where she resided for most of her life. Jayne then moved to Woodbridge where she resided for the past 10 years.
Ms. Pierce received her Masters Degree in library science and was employed by the New York Public Library and the New York City Board of Education. Jayne was a published poet who often performed in local venues across the city. Jayne specialized in promoting childrens' programs throughout the NY Public Library System. Jayne was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge.
She was predeceased by her father, Joseph E. Pierce and step father Donald G. Foley.
Surviving are a daughter, Ena Pierce Lee, of New York, NY; her mother, Hillie Foley, of Lake Worth, FL; and sisters, Susan Dube of Avon By the Sea, Hillary Delabar of Montville and Trish Menendez of Woodbridge and her loving nieces Kristin Baker, Shannen Delabar, Emily Menendez, Victoria Menendez and nephew Collin Dube as well as two great nieces, Sirena and Callista Baker whom she loved dearly.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, July 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
